Mercedes showed the all-wheel drive van Vito. The target audience of commercial vehicles, according to the German auto maker, will be entrepreneurs working in areas with long winters and cold climates. The Vito was previously rear-wheel drive.
In addition to all-wheel drive, the van got 4ETS technology, which prevents skidding and slipping of wheels. The system works automatically, instantly blocking the wheels left without traction. In this case, the torque is distributed between the rest of the wheels. The blocking lasts a few milliseconds, which is enough to prevent uncontrolled skidding. 4ETS is a kind of analogue of differential lock.
Initially, Vito 4 × 4 will be offered with a 2.15-liter engine (190 «horses»). The pair will be Kp 7G-TRONIC PLUS. The fuel consumption of the van will not exceed 6.4 liters per 100 km. The maximum speed of the Vito 4 × 4 will be 200 km / h.
While the new Mercedes is sold only in Germany. In the «base» the van is offered for 36120 euros.
