In Togliatti this year the production of the old «classic» car Lada-2107 will finally leave the assembly line (production of the «five» has already been discontinued). True, Lada-2107 will not disappear right away, this model will be assembled for some time at the facilities of the car factory in Izhevsk, but at the beginning of 2012, its assembly will be stopped there as well. Thus, the «classic» with rear wheel drive, which dates back to the Fiat-124 of the sixties of the last century, only one year left to exist. It should be noted that at the moment the «classic» is the most affordable car on the Russian market, its cost is from 199 thousand rubles. However, AvtoVAZ has no plans to leave the market for the most affordable models. After all, the plant will start producing a model called Granta at the end of this year, which will cost from 220 thousand rubles in the basic configuration. Moreover, it should be noted that the Granta will have a modern design in comparison with the «classic», it will receive the best ergonomics of the cabin and front-wheel drive.
